About My Photography & Style
I initially fell in love with photography when I started traveling over 12 years ago. I wanted to be able to capture the feelings and the beauty of different countries as I adventured through them. For me, traveling taught me the art of being unobtrusive. I became adept at not only being in the right place at the right time but also having the eye to catch incredible moments as they unfolded. Upon returning I attended several weddings where I witnessed several pushy “smile at me” wedding photographers. This style, I realized, was not for me, and I knew there was a better, more natural way to capture the intimate details from a wedding.
After gaining experience photographing a number of weddings in the summers of 2002 and 2003, I instantly fell into the role of a photojournalist. By capturing moments as they happened, recording them as a historian would, I was preserving these moments for years to come. The visual story I was recording allowed my clients to enjoy their wedding photos oover and over every time they looked at their album.
In the following years I worked with and was mentored by professional photographer Erin Ruff. She helped me refine my style, eventually pushing me out of my nest and convincing me to start my own business.
It is my vision to preserve the natural essence and beauty of each couple’s wedding. As the moments unfold, I am there as an observer to capture and record the details, the emotions and the beauty.
Now with over 150 successful weddings photographed around the world it is my turn to share and teach the emerging talent around me.
